Landmarc Footbridge
UK
JPC provided Client Quantity Surveying services for the construction of a new footbridge over the B390 at MOD Knook camp.
Project Summary
Knook training camp is split into north and south areas by the busy B390 road. As the camp, with a capacity of 720 people, is used by the regular army and the cadet force year round, the construction of a bridge across the B390 was necessary to improve safety.
Being situated on an active military camp, cost considerations were also required to ensure smooth construction, without impacting nearby active military operations. In addition, Knook camp is located within the Cranbourne Chase Area of Natural Beauty (AONB), which required visual impact assessments to be carried out, to ensure the construction did not detract from the overall beauty of the area.
JPC provided Cost Consultancy services from pre-planning in December 2019 to the project’s completion in February 2020.
